Hi,

Has anyone taken a Taxi from the Airport to Corralejo recently?
If so, how much did it cost?

Thanks in advance for your response.

Hey there,

Im coming over in June this year with a friend and was wondering how much it costs to get from Airport to Coralejo? Is it better to get a cab, or will the bus take you to your hotel?

Thanks all :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P

Hi Lizzy,

Where abouts in Corralejo are you staying, as this may affect your choice of transport?

If you want to just stay in the resort of Corralejo and don´t plan on visiting anywhere else on the island yourselves, then taxi or bus may be the best choice for you.

The buses are quite regular and don´t take too long to get to Corralejo. (take one bus from the airport to Puerto del Rosario -number3- and then from Rosario to Corralejo -number6-)

A taxi will cost around 40-50Euro - so there and back would cost around the same a care hire for one week (but if you don´t drive or just want to chill, then you may not want a car at all)

If you are looking at car hire, I would suggest Cabrera Medina (CICAR) as I have used them for nearly 12 years now with not one problem.

Hope this helps.

Hey there CanariesL,

I was flicking on the internet whilst on my lunch and saw your reply. Thank you for coming back to me.

I haven´t booked anything yet, but was thinking about going to the hotel in the Dunes (I think theres two.....?!?) :?: That way I´m right on the beach. My only concern is that it might be a bit far away in terms of going out at night....

I can drive and have driven abroad before, so will look at hire car from the company you mentioned and see what the prices are like - if it costs the same versus a taxi, then it would seem a waste not to pay the same amount and then get around and see some stuff. I read El Cotillo is worth a trip....

Thanks again 8) :P :P :P

There are two hotels within the Parque Natural de las Dunas de Corralejo, both are owned/run by the RIU company. Never stayed there, so can´t give you a review, although I am sure there will be plenty on TA.

You will be a fair way out of town and will have to catch a bus or grab a taxi when you want to go into town (unless you don´t mind a 45 min walk each way). If you want to eat out and sample the local night life quite often, then perhaps stay a little closer into town. But if you are wanting time on the beach, or kite surfing or surfing, then you will be in one of the best locations.

El Cotillo is well worth a trip. Its a much smaller fishing village, with a surfer / bohemian style - a bit rough around the edges, but that gives it a wonderful charm- Some would say its a bit like Corralejo was before it became as commercialised as it is now.....

If you are going for the car option, then stop of at Lajares - even more surfer and bohemian with a great cafe culture and growing food scene. (and for that matter if you have a car then venture further south too - it´s stunning!)

Thanks for youre help.

Still not quite sure, but your suggestions about going to other places like Cotilo and Lajares sound pretty good to me, so Im going to look at places closer to Corrallejo centre and then just use a hire car to visit places including the dunes.

Cheers again.
(I will start to look at stuff down south like you suggested, just haven´t had the chance yet.)
