Fishing in FuerteventuraFuerteventura offers game fishing for species such as Blue Marlin, White Marlin, Swordfish, Longbill Spearfish, Albacore Tuna, Bluefin Tuna, Bigeye Tuna, Yellowfin Tuna, Skipjack Tuna Wahoo, Dorado, Atlantic Bonito, Sting Ray, and Mako Shark. The best time of year for deep-sea fishing is between April and November, with October being the best month.
Closer to the shore, fish such as Barracuda and Garfish can be caught with a spinner, but Parrot Fish seem to be the favourite target of local Anglers who use small live crabs as a lure.

Sport fishing is subject to the following restrictions:
No more than 3 hooks or 2 Rods can be used by any one person at a time.
Maximum catch of 4kg of fish per person per day. Groups of 4 or more are limited to a maximum catch of 16kg per day.
The collecting of Mussels and Limpets is strictly forbidden.
Fishing excursions are available from several Marinas, although reports are mixed and some people have complained that they were not allowed to keep their own catch.
